Joey Hensley

Joey Hensley, 52, of Morganton went to his heavenly home on Thursday, August 8, 2019.  Born in Burke County, NC on April 28, 1967, he was the son of Paul Hensley and Mary Moore Hensley.  Joey had attended Friendly Freewill Baptist Church and knew the Bible front to back.  He had worked at Valdese Manufacturing and Morganton Dye and Finishing.  He was a loving, caring man who tried to help everyone and enjoyed playing guitar.

In addition to his parents, Joey is survived by his daughter, Kerri Dawn Setzer of Morganton; brothers, Sammy Hensley, Elijah Hensley, and Elias Hensley; and sisters, Cindy Duckworth, Paula Hensley, Ellen Thomas, Zelda Rexroad, Glenda Hensley, Vonita Hensley, Juanita Hensley, and Rosie Setzer.

The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m., Tuesday, August 13, 2019 at Nowlings Chapel Free Will Baptist Church.  The memorial service will be held at 12 p.m. in the church with Rev. Darvy Hensley officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. 

Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center is assisting the family with the arrangements.
