John Falls

John Falls, 52, of Glen Alpine, NC went to his Heavenly Home on Tuesday, August 26, 2014. Born in Burke County, NC on March 10, 1962, he was the son of the late Lewis Jackson Falls and Sudie Frances Smith Falls. John was raised up in the Baptist faith. Mr. Falls worked at Grace Hospital for 8 years and then went to work for Caldwell Memorial Hospital where he worked on the heating and air. He also worked on friend’s heating and air units on the side. He was a loving husband and father and devoted his life to his family.
John is survived by his wife of 32 years, Ruby Fredell Falls of the home; children, Neveah Zaylie Webb of the home, Deana C. Carswell and her husband, David, of Morganton, Dereama Webb Holloway and her husband, Jamie, of Lenoir, and Robert Dewayne Hughes and his special friend, Amanda, of Morganton; grandchildren, David Carswell and his wife, Savannea, Jamie Carswell and his wife, Amelia, Joshua Devan Carswell, Page Webb, Brent Webb, Raelyn Reid, Harley Hughes, and Gabby Hughes; great-grandchildren, Aubrey Carswell, Dixie Hildebrand, Brooklyn Carswell, Pypier Stevens, Kaelyn Webb, Emma Reid, Masey Reid, and Issac Wilson; brothers, Lewis Falls and his wife, Julie, of Nova Scotia, Canada, Fred Falls of Glen Alpine, NC, Edward Falls and his wife, Sherron, of Glen Alpine; sisters, Frances Hood and her husband, Charles, of Lenoir, NC, Betty Falls of Morganton, Edith McKee and her husband, James, of Morganton, and Marry Ellen Price and her husband, Jackie, of Lawndale, NC; and a number of nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Elizabeth C. Carswell.
The funeral will be held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, August 31, 2014 in the Colonial Chapel of Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center with the Rev. Jackie Price officiating. Burial will follow in Gibb’s Chapel Wesleyan Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
