John Joseph Scalese, 65, of Nebo, NC passed away on Friday, February 27, 2015. John was born in Lackawanna County, PA on October 22, 1949 to the late Michael Scalese and Edith Fleischer Scalese.
John was a member of Central Baptist Church in Morganton. He enjoyed the outdoors, being around family and friends and going to auctions.
John is survived by his wife, Sandra Bryant Scalese of the home; a son, David Scalese of Nebo, a daughter, Tina Elizabeth Scalese and her fiancé, Rob Sawyer, of Morganton; grandchildren, Tatiana Scalese and Alexis Sawyer; a cousin and best friend, Richard Secoolish and wife, Patty; and a sister, Mary Jo Scalese.
In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by a brother, Michael Scalese, Jr.; and a sister, Rose Scalese.
The funeral service will be 12:00 noon, Wednesday, March 4, 2015 at Grace Baptist Church with Rev. Marty Bess and Chaplain Mike Costner officiating. The family will receive friends at the church from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. prior to the service.
