John P. Galloway, Jr.

John P. Galloway, Jr., 87, died Tuesday, April 10, 2018.  Born in Burke County, NC on March 18, 1931, he was the son of the late John P. Galloway, Sr. and Addie Saulman Galloway.  John retired from the U.S. Air Force after 23 years and was a member of Oak Hill United Methodist Church.

Mr. Galloway is survived by his wife, Bessie “Bess” Galloway of the home; sons, Cecil W. (Debbie) Galloway of Eden, NC and John P. (Fran) Galloway, III of Rockville, MD; grandchildren, Steven, Matthew, Nick, and Sam Galloway; brother, Bill Galloway of Morganton; and sisters, Virginia Pitts of Glen Alpine, NC, Ann Ehrenfelt of Richmond, VA, and Laura Rhodes of Morganton.

In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by a sister, Louise Peeler.

The memorial service will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, April 21, 2018 at Oak Hill United Methodist Church with Rev. Paul McClure and Rev. Owen Peeler officiating.  Military honors will be provided by the N.C. National Guard and the Caldwell County Veterans Honor Guard.  The family will greet friends in the church following the service.
