John "Ralph" Beach

John "Ralph" Beach, 91, of Morganton, died Sunday, February 1, 2015. He was born in Burke County, NC on February 21, 1923 to the late Fred Heath Beach and Cora Neidig Beach. Ralph was a member of Oak Forest United Methodist Church. He devoted his life and time to J. Iverson Riddle Developmental Center. While working at J. Iverson Riddle Developmental Center he earned his state certificate of engineering. Ralph was very talented and self educated himself including constructing his own home. He graduated from Morganton High School in 1942.
Ralph is survived by his wife, Hattie Lambdin Beach of the home; son, Carson Beach and wife, Merita of Hudson, NC; daughters, Alice Campbell and husband, Ernest and Marian Davis and husband, Scott; brother, Ruthven Beach and wife, Marybell; sisters, Louise Brittain, Mary Tallent and Sarah Copeland and husband, Lester, all of Morganton; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by infant children, Johnny and Joan Beach; brother, Worth Beach; sisters, Ethylene Murphy, Vera Brittain, Blanche LeFevers and Mary Virginia.
The funeral will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, February 3, 2015 in the Colonial Chapel of Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center with Rev. Eddy Bunton, Dr. David Mills and Mr. Bob Choate officiating. Burial will follow in Bethel United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 12:30 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. prior to the service. At other times the family will be at the home on Crawley Dale St.
Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center is assisting the family with the arrangements.
