John Richard Moose, 47, passed away in his home on Sunday, May 26, 2024. John was a lover of animals and had an affinity for things "out of this world." There was never a shortage of laughter when John was present and to know John was to know you had a friend. He was a funny man who dearly loved his family. He enjoyed pulling pranks on people.

In addition to his father, those left to cherish his memory include his son, Deveran Matthew (Samantha) Ollis, and four beautiful granddaughters, Raelynn Ollis, Roselynn Ollis, Ravyn Ollis, and Hayden McCall; grandson, Dawson McCall; step-daughter, Vestiny McCall; brother, Brian Moose; sister, Tonya Pries; nieces, Riley Hutchinson, Amber Cluckey, Elisabeth Martyrs, and Kristin Drum; nephews, Brian Moose and Jonathan Cook; and special friend, Regina Ollis.

John was preceded in death by his mother, Wanda Moose; sister, Patricia "Nikki" Rayfield; and granddaughter, Ramsie Kaye Ollis.

The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m., Friday, June 7, 2024 at Sossoman Funeral Home. The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. in the Colonial Chapel of the funeral home with Mr. Darren Peterson officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Hill Cemetery.

Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center is assisting the family with the arrangements.

We will always love one another. Even though you picked on us all, "what's that? then run your finger to my nose", gave us all a hard time, "hey! you dropped your pocket", we all were so lucky to have known you 💖, "me backing up and you smack your door! Give me a heart attck." Thank you for always being there and being a friend to the end. I love you John and always will 💖. One day I'll see you again and I hope that we get to have another old fashion belt fight. 💞
