John Robert Richey

John Robert Richey, 41, of Pitts Farm Dr., Morganton, NC died Thursday, April 26, 2007, at Grace Hospital following an eleven year battle with cancer. He was born in Wausau, WI on March 19, 1966 and was a son of Robert and Kathleen Ollhoff Richey of Tomahawk, WI. Mr. Richey was a U. S. Army veteran and was an employee of the Morganton Post Office. He was an avid fisherman. He was preceded in death by daughters, Robin and Jenny Richey; and grandparents, Raymond and Caroline Richey, and Reuben Ollhoff.

Surviving in addition to his parents are his wife, Carol Pope Richey, of the home; daughters, Heaven Richey of Wisconsin and Sydney Richey of the home; a step-son, E. J. Starnes, of the home; sisters, Sherrie Krohn of Tomahawk, WI, McKenya Gore of Mosinee, WI, and Jennifer Zimmerman of Minocqua, WI; his maternal grandmother, Ruth Ollhoff, of Wausau, WI; and a niece and several nephews.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, May 1, 2007, at Royal Chapel Church of God on George Hildebran School Rd., Hickory with Rev. Dennis Pitts officiating. The family will receive friends from 7:00 until 8:30 p.m. Monday at Sossoman Funeral Home.
