John Wade Clark

John Wade Clark, 90, of Hartland Rd., Morganton, NC died Tuesday, February 20, 2007 at his residence. He was born November 18, 1916 in Mitchell County, NC, and was the son of the late Henry Theodore Clark and Mamie Evelyn Thomas Clark. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Annie Suddreth Clark. John was a member of Littlejohn United Methodist Church in Lenoir NC. He was a US Army veteran of World War II, and a retired employee of Drexel Furniture Company. John also worked as a auto mechanic.

He is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Philip and Pam Clark of Morganton; a nephew, Donald W. Saunders and wife, Jewel, of Hudson, NC, a niece Judith S. Huffman and husband, Harold of Boone, NC, a nephew, Thomas H. Cannon and wife, Patsy, of Lenoir; and several other nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be held at 11:30 am, Friday, Feb. 23, 2007 at Littlejohn United Methodist Church Cemetery with the Rev. Ross O’Neal and Dr. Steve Parker officiating. The family will receive friends Friday from 10:30 to 11:30 am at the church. Memorial contributions may be to the Littlejohn United Methodist Church Parsonage Fund, 4720 Littlejohn Church Rd., Lenoir, NC 28645. Sossoman Funeral Home is assisting the family with the arrangements.
