John William Graf V

John William Graf V of Morganton N.C. slipped peacefully into the arms of His Father in heaven at his home on Monday, February 19th, 2018. Born on August 22nd, 1969 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, John was the beloved husband of his wife Kristy for almost nineteen years and her treasured soul mate for twenty-five years, proud father of his daughter Cloe, precious eldest son of William Gregory and Maura Ann Graf, cherished brother of James (Joy Wilke and loving uncle to Jackson, Grace, and Allegra), and beloved brother of Amara Ann and David Joseph. John is survived by his dear mother-in-law Joyce Keller, sister-in-law Katenia, brothers-in-law Brian (Deanna and his fun-loving nephews Nathan and Seth), Blake, and Bart (Donna and his fun-filled nephews Tyler and Austin). John is further survived by the loving aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews of the Graf, Sherer, and Demetrio families in Wisconsin and Illinois. Forever a free spirit, John artistically designed and cared for landscapes as founder and owner of Graf's Landscaping Design LLC, operated in four states. John fearlessly led us to see the beauty in all of Mother Nature's creations, from fish and monitors, to cats and dogs, and, above all, each other. John lived a life of "chutz-pah": inclined to take liberties with audacity, guts, nerve, and boldness and that is his legacy to his family and friends.

The family will receive friends from 3 until 4 p.m., Friday, February 23, 2018 at Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center. A memorial service will follow at 4 p.m. in the Colonial Chapel of Sossoman Funeral Home with Father Kenneth Whittington and Rev. Eddy Bunton officiating.
