John Wilson Puett

John Wilson Puett, 90, died May 29, 2007 after a brief illness. He was married to the late Edna Arlee Hutchins, and is survived by two sons, Cleveland George Puett of Cornelius, NC, and J. David Puett of Athens, GA; two grandsons; and three great-grandchildren. A resident of Morganton Long Term Care, Mr. Puett lived most of his life in Morganton and Cornelius, NC. John was a US Marine Corps veteran of World War II, and served in the Pacific Campaign. He graduated from Gardner-Webb Junior College, and then was employed as a specialist in sewing machine repair, working in both Morganton and Charlotte, NC. Mr. Puett also served for a few years as a Baptist minister.Private graveside services are planned at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church.
