Johnnie I. Walker, 76, of Morganton, NC died Friday, February 24, 2017. He was born in Burke County, NC on July 17, 1940 and was the son of the late Charlie I. Walker and Annie Loudermilk Walker. Johnnie was a member of Mt. Home Baptist Church. He was a store manager of Harris-Teeter for 28 years and worked at Drexel Heritage as a supervisor until retirement.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, David Walker.
He is survived by his wife, Georgia Anna McDaniel Walker; son, Mark Walker and wife, Sonya of Lynchburg, VA; sister, Grace Looper and husband, Mitch of Rock Hill, SC; and a number of nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m., Monday, February 27, 2017 at Mt. Home Baptist Church with Rev. Jerry Gamble officiating. The family will receive friends at the church following the service. Memorial contributions may be made to Burke Hospice and Palliative Care, Inc., 1721 Enon Rd., Valdese, NC 28690.
