Rev. Johnnie Mack Hatfield, 74, of Morganton, NC graduated to his Heavenly home unexpectedly on Saturday, January 11, 2014. Born May 2, 1939 in Mingo Co., WV, he was the son of the late John Wallace Hatfield and Imogene Syck Hatfield. Rev. Hatfield was a US Army veteran. He retired from U.S. Can in Chicago, IL with 30 years of service, and moved to Burke County in 1998. He was an active member of Faith Missionary Baptist Church where he assisted with Ministerial duties, and also taught Sunday school. Johnnie was a friend to all his neighbors. He was an avid gardener, hunter, and fisherman.Rev. Hatfield is survived by his wife of 22 years, Mary Ann Cisco Parker Hatfield of the home; sons, Ronnie Mack Hatfield of West Virginia, Tony Parker and wife, Leah, of Albemarle, NC, and Rev. Rick Parker and wife Shadow, of Hardeeville, SC; a daughter, Christine Walton and husband, Doug, of Sylvania, OH; grandchildren, Addison Farley, Lexie and Zane Hatfield, Megan Parker, Allie Easley, and Tyler, Dylan, Jordan, Ryan, Morgan, and Autumn Walton; and a sister, Doris Jenkins and husband, Hershal of Tennessee.Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, January 14, 2014 at Faith Missionary Baptist Church with the Reverends Terry Robinson and Rick Parker officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with military honors provided by the NC National Guard. The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service.
