Johnsie Curtis Cline

Johnsie Curtis Cline, 76, died Wednesday, December 22, 2010 following a period of declining health. Mrs. Cline was born in Burke County on November 12, 1934, and she was a daughter of the late Joe Ben Curtis and Grace Mae Kelly Curtis. She was a member of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church and loved flower gardening.She is survived by her daughter, Pamela K. Barrier-Beck and husband, Joe Beck of Morganton; sons Michael Barrier and wife, Elaine, of Morganton, and Steven Barrier and wife, Teresa of Newland; brothers, T. J. Curtis and wife, Billie, of Valdese and Mike Curtis of Marion; grandchildren, Ian and Tara Beck and Starla McClellan; a great-grandson, Zakery McClellan; and a number of nieces and nephews.In addition to her parents, Johnsie was preceded in death by her husband, Larry Wayne Cline, and by sisters, Annie Mae Curtis and Irene McGimsey.Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, January 7, 2011 in the Colonial Chapel of Sossoman Funeral Home with Rev.
