Johnsie Puett

Johnsie Puett, 75, of Bristol Creek Avenue, Morganton, NC went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, June 19, 2010 at Grace Hospital. Born in Burke County, NC on October 18, 1934, she was the daughter of the late Clyde Cicero Costner and Elsie Margaret Lambert Costner. Johnsie was a member of Hartland Baptist Church where she was active in the quilting ministries. She loved flowers and hummingbirds and retired from Drexel Heritage.Johnsie is survived by her husband of 59 years, Edward ‘Ed" Puett of the home; sons, Robert E. Puett and wife, Debbie, of Marion, NC and Randy A. Puett and wife, Barbara, of Lenoir, NC; grandchildren, Heather Nyman, Bethany Powell, Kimberly Owenby, Robbie Puett, and Amber Massey; eleven great-grandchildren; a brother, J.C. Costner of Charlotte, NC; and a sister, Merlene Long of Hickory, NC.The funeral will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, June 22, 2010 in the Colonial Chapel of Sossoman Funeral Home with Rev. Matthew A. Grindstaff officiating. Burial will follow in Burke Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home for one hour prior to the service.
