Jonathan Derek Smith

Jonathan Derek Smith, newborn son of Jackie Dean Smith, II and Crystal Mae Davis of Morganton, was taken by angels on Tuesday, July 2, 2013. He will be dearly missed and forever loved.In addition to his parents, Jonathan is survived by his paternal grandparents, Dewayne and Serena Smith of Pageland, SC; his maternal grandmother, Marie Eva Richardson of Morganton; his paternal great-grandparents, Jerry and Barbara Lovelace of Gastonia, NC, Cheryl Lovelace of Columbia, SC, Alvin and Judy Moree of Pageland, and Jackie and Ann Smith of Polkville, NC; uncles, Chase Smith and Tyler Blanton; and aunts, Mitzi Richardson and Christin Smith.A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, July 5, 2013 at Burkemont Baptist Church Cemetery with the Rev. David Mills officiating. The family will receive friends in the cemetery following the service.Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center is assisting the family with the arrangements.
