Joseph Anthony “Joe” Pontorno

Joseph Anthony “Joe” Pontorno, 69, died Sunday, April 15, 2018.  Born 8/11/1948 in Long Island, New York. Son of the late Salvatore and Elizabeth Pontorno. 

A former machinist by trade, "Joe" lived in Morganton 30 years.  Survived by his faithful wife Patty, son Nicholas and daughter Lindsay of the home.  Also survived by  sibings Steven Pontorno and Christine Culver of Florida, Roseanne Pontorno of Hawaii.  Also daughters Christina Cook of Valdese, Melanie Lattanzi of Black Mountain, Sara Malahy of Morganton, Joey Pontorno of Burnsville and Jesse Pontorno of Levittown, Pa. "Joe" also has 3 beautiful granddaughters Jolena and Madelyn Pontorno of Burnsville, NC and Eliana Pontorno  of Levittown, Pa. 

Joe was also a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses and cherished his spiritual family.  He loved the beauty of North Carolina and had an exceptional appreciation for nature and it's Creator.  Joe had a strong work ethic, yet made time to enjoy recreation with family and friends whenever he could.  He passed from complications of Lymphoma.

A memorial will be held Saturday, April 28th at 2pm. for Joseph at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 1663 Jamestown Rd., Morganton, NC 28655 Donations may be made to the worldwide work at Jw.org.

Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center is assisting the family with the arrangements.
