Joseph David Dale

Joseph David Dale, 78, of Morganton, passed away Tuesday, December 4, 2018. Born on February 29, 1940, he was the son of the late Laddie Peyton Dale and Ruby Lee Dale. David was a member of Salem United Methodist Church.

David was a very simple man who enjoyed doing things for others. He loved to work outside, volunteered at Burke United Christian Ministries. David loved visiting people at nursing homes. He always enjoyed a picnic with his brother L.P. after visiting the VA.

David is survived by his wife, Clara Janette Dale; son, David Allen Dale; brothers, Gray Dale (Bobbi), L.P Dale (Pat); sister, Susan Carswell (Joey) and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, David is preceded in death by his sister, Libbie Dale Abernathy.

The family will receive friends from 1 until 2 p.m., Friday, December 7, 2018 at Salem UMC. The memorial service will follow in the church at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Norm Jones officiating. Military honors provided by the Caldwell County Honor Guard and the US Navy.

In lieu of flowers, contribution may be made to Salem UMC.
