Josh Childs

Josh Childs, 30, of Morganton died Friday, July 5, 2019.  Born in Burke County on February 10, 1989, he is the son of Randal Leslie Childs (Becky) and Penny Hollifield Wiseman (Marty).  Josh worked as a welder at James Tool.  He was a fun, loving man who enjoyed fishing, welding, and his family.

In addition to his parents, Josh is survived by his wife, Ana Childs; daughters, Kora Cristina Childs, Kira Jade Childs, and Kayden Iris Childs; siblings, Jacob Childs (Jordan), Chris Wiseman (Brittany), Robyn Waycaster (Jeff), and Derrek Charlet (Donna); nephews and nieces, Kanon Childs, Everley Wiseman, Izak Ortiz, Ezra Ortiz, Rose Ortiz, Alexia Andrade, Aleen Andrade, and King Andrade; grandmothers, Delores “Mickie” Hollifield, Katy Anthony, Ruby Prewitt, and Brenda Sue Wiseman; uncles and aunts, Rusty Hollifield (Anna), Jeff Hollifield (Veda), Robbie Hollifield (Apryl), Lyn Yates (Randy ), Eddie Childs, Rhonda Manley (Frank), Neil Childs (Kathy), and Gerald Childs; parents-in-law, Maria and Memo Vasquez; brothers-in-law, Eddie Andrade (Nachies), Lupita Ortiz (Adan), and David Andrade; and special friends, Josh Lucas, Tim Whisnant, Daniel Presnell, Evan Foust, and Brad and Becca Wilcox.

Josh was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Robbie Hollifield, Ray Anthony, and Fred Wiseman.

The memorial service will be held at 12 p.m., Wednesday, July 10, 2019 in the Colonial Chapel of Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center with Rev. Mike Chandler officiating.  The family will greet friends at the funeral home following the service.
