Josie Bogdanich Essig

Josie Bogdanich Essig, 87, of Morganton and a former resident of Pittsburg, PA died Wednesday, January 9, 2013 at her residence. Born in Pittsburgh, PA on March 19, 1925, she was the daughter of the late Matt and Eva Thomas. Josie was a member of St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church. She had been a resident of Morganton for 18 years and was a former employee of Saft America/Duracell. In addition to her parents, Josie was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Frank Essig; a son, Ronald Blaine Enie; brothers, Daniel and Mikey Bogdanich; and a son-in-law, James "Bud" Toner.Josie is survived by her children, Nelda Toner of Morganton, Anita Luffy and husband, Bob, Frankie Essig and wife, Ruthie all of Pittsburg, PA and Sandi Grguric and husband, George of Alabama; a sister, Mary Kleya of Glenshaw, PA; grandchildren, Lisa King, Erin Davis, Laura Enie, and Jeff Toner; great grandchildren, Meghan, Zachary, Carson, and Greyson King, Brock and Ally Toner, Blaine and Arden Rose; several other grandchildren and great grandchildren; and a number of nephews and nieces.The funeral will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, January 12, 2013 in the Colonial Chapel of Sossoman Funeral Home with Father Kenneth Whittington officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home for one hour prior to the service.
