Joyce Pierce Rudisill

Joyce Pierce Rudisill, 62, of Nebo, a devoted and loving wife and mother, died Wednesday, November 16, 2011. She was born in Hamilton County, Ohio on August 3, 1949 and was a daughter of Willard Howard Pierce of Rushville, Indiana and the late Della Faye Zimmerman Pierce. Joyce was a member of Eastside Baptist Church.In addition to her father, Joyce is survived by her husband, Dennis Rudisill; daughter, Tamara Smith and husband, Jesse, and Denise Rudisill all of Nebo, and Becky white and husband, Rob, of Morganton; siblings, Howard Ray Pierce and Kathy Bockover both of Rushville, Indiana, and Donna Garrison of Virginia Beach, Virginia; grandchildren, Jesse Smith Jr. and wife, Meghan of Ft. Benning, Georgia, Miranda Smith and Martin Caballero both of Nebo, Chasta Westrick of Enterprise, Alabama; and Destiny White of Morganton.The funeral will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, November 21, 2011 at Eastside Baptist Church, 963 Harmony Grove Rd., Nebo with Reverends Bill Long and Scott Moneyham officiating. Burial will follow at McDowell Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m. Monday at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 4-A Oak Branch Drive, Greensboro, NC 27407. Sossoman Funeral Home & Crematory Center is assisting with arrangements.
