Juanita Kephart

Juanita Kephart, 54, of Morganton went to her Heavenly Home on Tuesday, August 14, 2012. Born in Ashtabula, OH on October 24, 1957, she is the daughter of the late Burl Benjamin Slater and Sylvia Null Slater. Juanita was a member of Celebration Family Worship Center. Along with her husband, she founded and operated New Covenant Outreach Ministries.Juanita is survived by her husband of 37 years, Thomas Kephart; a son, Thomas Lain Kephart, II and his wife, Brandy, of Milledgeville, GA; a daughter, Heather Renee Foy and her husband, Michael, of Morganton; grandchildren, Katelyn Foy, Elijah Foy, Matthew Foy, Isiah Foy, Caleb Kephart, Madison Kephart, and Haley Kephart; and a brother, Jerry Benjamin Slater of Albion, PA.In addition to her parents, Juanita was preceded in death by her brother, Duane Stewart Slater.A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, August 18, 2012 at Celebration Family Worship Center with Rev. Rocky McLendon officiating. The family will receive friends at the church for one hour prior to the service.In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to New Covenant Outreach Ministries, 710 Vine Arden Rd., Morganton, NC 28655.Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center is assisting the family with the arrangements.
