Juanita Noggle "Nita" McDowell

Juanita Noggle "Nita" McDowell, 91, of Lenoir, NC died January, 8th. Born in Cleveland County, NC on January 5, 1923, she was the daughter of the late Jessie McClure Noggle and Audrey Lee Wilkie Noggle. Nita was a member of First United Methodist Church in Lenoir, NC and sang in the choir for 40 years. She was an avid reader, loved doing needlework, and belonged to the monthly Book Club.Nita is survived by her daughter, Martha Huff and her husband, Jim, of Forest, VA and a granddaughter, Morgan Huff of Williamsburg, VA.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. McDowell was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence Stuart McDowell; and a sister and brother-in-law, Martha and Nial Stroupe.A memorial service will be held at 11AM, Saturday, January 18th in the Colonial Chapel of Sossoman Funeral Home. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 10:30-11AM prior to the service.In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to First United Methodist Church Building Fund, 309 Church St. NW, Lenoir, NC 28645.
