Juanita Queen Halford

Juanita Queen Halford, 85, of Morganton NC passed away at her residence, Saturday February 19 2022. Born in Burke County on February 13, 1937, she was the daughter of the late Charles Wesley Queen and Jessie Clontz Queen. Mrs. Halford was retired from Western Carolina Center Personnel, after 30 years of service.

She enjoyed sewing, cooking, gardening and spending time with her grandchildren.

Juanita is survived by her loving husband of 63 years, Escar H Halford; daughter, Donna H Stroud; son James H Halford (Amy); and her grandchildren Lauren H Church (Jake) and Garrett Halford.

The family would like to express their gratitude to Christy Biggerstaff NP and the staff at Appalachian Medical Health and Wellness of Drexel NC for their kindness and care for Juanita in her last days.  

Graveside services will be held at 11am Wednesday February 23, 2022 at Burke Memorial Park.

Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center is assisting the family with the arrangements.
