Juanita Ramsey, 88, of Connelly Springs, NC passed away Sunday, February 05, 2017. Born in Burke County, NC on February 2, 1929, she was the daughter of the late Joseph Stuart Ramsey, Sr. and Pearl Carswell Ramsey. She was a member of Zion Hill Baptist Church. Juanita earned her bachelor’s degree from Lenoir Rhyne University and her master’s degree from Appalachian State University. She was a school teacher at George Hildebran School.
Miss Ramsey is survived by her nephew, David Ramsey and wife, Leslie, of Connelly Springs; her niece, Amy Ramsey Dobert and husband, Jody, of Connelly Springs; and great-nieces and nephews, Dr. Kelly Ramsey of Spencer, IN, Mindy Howe of Phillips, WI, Alex Ramsey of Golden, CO, and Ila Dobert of Connelly Springs.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Joseph Ramsey, Jr.
The funeral will be held at 2:00 pm, Tuesday, February 7, 2017 at Zion Hill Baptist Church with the Rev. Allan Barlow officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will greet friends following the service.
