Juanita Suttles Berry

Juanita Suttles Berry, 78, of Morganton went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, February 12, 2013 at Grace Hospital. Born on November 17, 1934 in Burke County, NC, she was a daughter of the late Benjamin Harrison Suttles and Mary Adeline Smith Suttles. Juanita was a loving wife and mother who based her life on the faith that she obtained from being a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church. She served on the Finance Committee and the Food Committee at the church. A retired employee of Drexel Heritage Furnishings, Juanita loved her career at the company where she made many lifelong friends.Juanita is survived by her husband of fifty-five years, Harold Eugene Berry of the home; her daughter, Melanie Byers of Hickory; her son, Scott Berry of Morganton; a sister, Ethel Marie Suttles; one step-granddaughter; and three step-great grandchildren.In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother and his wife, Carl and Nola Jean Suttles.Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m., Friday, February 15, 2013 at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church with Rev. Dr. Larry Cline officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00 pm until 2:30 pm at the church. Memorial contributions in memory of Juanita Berry may be made to a charity of personal choice. Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center is assisting the family with the arrangements.
