Juanita W. Pearson

Juanita W. Pearson, 83, of Valdese, NC, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, November 27, 2007 at her residence. Born on January 5, 1924 in Burke County, NC, she was the daughter of the late Ferdie Ersel Whisenant and Maude Lee Short Whisenant. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Grant Pearson; sons, Randy and Barry Pearson; a brother, Boyd Whisenant; sisters, Avna Barnette, and Mable Annas. Juanita was a member of United Baptist Church. She was very active in the choir, WMU, and other church functions and volunteered for many years for Hospice of Burke County. She loved to help and serve others.Mrs. Pearson is survived by sons, Gene Pearson and wife, Sandy, of Chattanooga, TN, Mike Pearson and wife, Gail, of Valdese, Terryl Pearson and wife, Lynda, of Drexel, NC, Byron Pearson of Morganton, NC; daughters, Detra Hall and husband, Ken, of Morganton, NC and Lana German and husband, Randy, of Lenoir, NC; a sister, Greta Garrison; and a number of nieces and nephews.The funeral will be held at 3:00 p.m., Thursday, November 29, 2007 at United Baptist Church with the Reverends Avery Owenby and Jim Lee officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church 2 hours prior to the service. Her grandsons, Garron German, Derrick German, Barry Pearson, Joey Pearson, Richard Pearson, and David Pearson will be serving as pallbearers.
