Judy Lynn Carver

Judy Lynn Killough Carver, 66, of Morganton, passed peacefully while surrounded by family on Monday, December 29, 2014. She was born on July 27, 1948 in McDowell County to the late Frank and Wilma Edwards Killough. Mrs. Carver was retired from the state of North Carolina and an active member of the choir at North Morganton Baptist Church. She enjoyed meeting with a close group of friends every Thursday to play cards and appreciated their friendship. She loved to spend time with her family especially her granddaughters.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Kay Ann Killough.

Mrs. Carver is survived by her son, Aaron Carver and wife, Marsha of Morganton; granddaughters, McKenna and Kiley Carver; sister, Sherry Killough Bowers of Columbus, OH; former husband and friend, Larry Carver of Marion, NC; aunt, Velma Baucom; a special friend, Lynda Norville of Morganton and numerous nieces,  nephews and cousins.

The memorial service will be held at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 3, 2015 in the Colonial Chapel of Sossoman Funeral Home with the Rev. Kenny Baker officiating. The family will receive friends from 3:00 until 5:00 prior to the service.

In her memory and in lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Church Fund at North Morganton Baptist Church, 101 View Street, Morganton, NC 28655.

Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center is assisting the family with the arrangements.
