Judy Patton-Duckworth

Judy Patton-Duckworth, 69, of Valdese went to our Heavenly Father, Friday, February 3, 2012. Born September 28, 1942 in McDowell County, NC, she was a daughter of the late Rassie Isaiah Swink and Texie Webb Swink. Judy was a member of Drexel First Church of God, and an avid gardener, reader, and homemaker. She was a loving and caring friend to everyone she knew and everyone whom she befriended.A loyal wife and devoted mother, Judy is survived by her husband, Herman M. Duckworth; a daughter, Kay Gervais and fiancée, Richard Ducharme of Suwanee, GA; granddaughter, Aeron Wilson of Atlanta, GA; a sister, Shirley Fulbright of Casar, NC; and four brothers, her twin, Jerry Swink, and Junior Swink, both of Drexel, NC, Kenneth Swink of Hartland, NC, and Charles Ray Swink of Rhodhiss, NC.In addition to her parents, Judy was preceded in death by her first husband, Ernest Lee "Bob" Patton; a daughter, Gina Dawn Wilson; and brothers, Paul and Bobby Swink.Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m., Wednesday, February 8, 2012 in the Chapel of Memories at Burke Memorial Park with Rev. Keith Fulbright officiating. Burial will immediately follow the service. The family will receive friends in the Chapel one hour prior to the funeral.
