Julius Arnold Deal

Julius Arnold Deal, 89, of Morganton, NC went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, April 1, 2009. He was born March 28, 1920 and was the son of the late Jannie Jacumin Deal and Arthur Deal. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Mildred Rigdon Deal. He truly loved his Lord, his family, and his country. He showed his love of the US by faithfully serving in World War II.Surviving are his two daughters, Judy Deal Kimberlin and husband, David, and Susan Deal Street and husband, David, all of Morganton; grandchildren, Chris Stroupe, III of Advance, NC, Julie Norman and Scott Farris, both of Morganton; a step-granddaughter, Renea Bedard; and great-grandchildren, Ashlee Hemmings, Hannah Stroupe, Stephanie Norman, Jessica Burton, Caleb Norman, Lindsey Stroupe, Michael Farris, Lauren Bedard, and Brett Bedard; a sister, Clara Demiter of Valdese; and countless other loving family members and friends.Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m., Saturday, April 4, 2009 at Gibbs Chapel Wesleyan Church with the Reverends Roger Brackett and Dean Lavender officiating. Burial will follow in the Waldensian Presbyterian Church Cemetery with military graveside rites conducted by the Valdese American Legion Post #234. The family will receive friends Friday from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Sossoman Funeral Home.
