Karen Lea Barker Bigger

Karen Lea Barker Bigger, 57, of Morganton, NC passed away Friday, September 6, 2013 at her residence. Born on November 24, 1955, she was the daughter of the late Curtis Wilbur Barker and Patsy Joan Bailey Barker. Karen was raised in the Baptist faith. She loved her family very much and devoted the majority of her life to take care of her daughter, Patricia Bigger.Karen is survived by her boyfriend, Brad Allen; a son, Ralph Bigger and his wife, Andrianee, of Morganton; daughters, Tiffney Maltry and her husband, Glenn, and Patricia Bigger, both of Morganton; a grandson, Joshua Giesler of Morganton; brothers, Curtis David Barker and T. P. Barker; and sisters, Teresa Adili and Becky Barker.In addition to her parents, Karen was preceded in death by a daughter, Gretchen Bigger, and an aunt, Ruth "RuRu" Kendrick.The funeral will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, September 10, 2013 at Camp Creek Baptist Church in Boiling Springs, NC. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The body will be placed in the church from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m. prior to the funeral.Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center is assisting the family with the arrangements.
