Karen Mary Clarke

Karen Mary Clarke, 69, died Friday, February 24, 2012 following a period of declining health. Karen was born in Burke County on November 11, 1942 and was a daughter of the late Forrest Evans Clarke and Lillian Alice Clark Clarke. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Harold McDonald Clarke. She was of the Baptist faith.Karen is survived by her daughter, Kimberly Ann Powell, of Valdese; a sister, Betty Harris of Morganton; and a niece, Tammy Harris Andrews of Morganton.The funeral will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, February 26, 2012 in the Colonial Chapel of Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center with Rev. Thomas Hartman officiating. The family will receive friends one hour before the service.
