Katherine Causby Hoke

Katherine Causby Hoke, 94, of Morganton, NC died Tuesday, June 16, 2015.  Born in Burke County, NC on May 27, 1921, she was the daughter of the late William Wesley Causby and Nannie Franklin Causby.  Mrs. Hoke was a member of Hopewell Baptist Church and retired from Broughton Hospital.  She was a very active quilter and sewer.

Katherine is survived by her daughter, Joyce H. Carswell and her husband, Bob, of Morganton; grandchildren, Andrea Elder and her husband, Kevin, of Conover, NC and Adam Carswell and his wife, Britt, of Morganton; great-grandchildren, Sarah Elder and Noah Elder, both of Conover; sisters, Beatrice Chapman and Mary Alice Walters; a sister-in-law, Anne Thompson and her husband, Joel, of Waxhaw, NC; and a number of nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Katherine was preceded in death by her husband, Paul H. Hoke.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 until 3:00 p.m., Friday, June 19, 2015 at Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center.  The funeral will be held in the funeral home chapel at 3:00 p.m. with Dr. David Mills and the Rev. Scott Harmon officiating.  Burial will follow in Burke Memorial Park.
