Kathleen Joyce Clark

Kathleen Joyce Clark, 88, of Morganton, NC died Friday, January 20, 2012 at her residence. Born April 11, 1923 inTarrytown, NY, she was the daughter of the late George B. Joyce (the former N. Tarrytown Fire Chief) and Helen Conrad Joyce. Kathleen was a member of St. Bernadette Catholic Church in Harrington, DE. She was a graduate of Grassland Nursing School in Valhalla, NY and spent the next 50 years as a registered nurse in several New Jersey area hospitals, including Freehold Area Hospital.Kathleen is survived by her children, Robert James Clark and wife, Rita of Curtis Bay, MD, Michael George Clark and wife, Mutana of Bangkok, Thailand, Maureen Addie Poulson and husband, Richard of Atlanta, GA, Eileen Helen Murphy and husband, John of Camden, DE, Kathleen Mary Candlearia of Lawrenceville, NJ, and Christine Ann Engle and husband, Tim of Federalsburg, MD; siblings, Betty Burton of Youngsville, NC, David Joyce and wife, Sylvia of Rio Rancho, NM, and Marianne Connolly of Morganton; eighteen grandchildren; thirty great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.In addition to her parents, Kathleen was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Edsel Clark; a son, Dennis Raymond Clark; two infant daughters, Mary Patricia and Rosemary Clark; five siblings; a son-in-law, David Candlearia; and a grandson, Michael Francis Clark.The family will receive friends Friday, January 27, 2012 from 9:00 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. at St. Bernadette Catholic Church. The Funeral Mass will be follow from 10:30 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. at the church with Rev. Monsignor George J. Brubaker officiating. The graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Friday at the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Bear, DE.
