Kathleen Watts Clarke

Kathleen Watts Clarke, of Ridgedale Drive, Morganton, NC, went to be with the Lord with her family at her bedside on Saturday, September 9, 2006 at her residence. Born in Burke County, NC, she was the daughter of the late James McKinnley Watts and Mary Alice Dale Watts. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Clarke, and a brother, Jim Watts. Kathleen was a member of Brookwood Baptist Church and was a retired employee of Broughton Hospital.

Mrs. Clarke is survived by her two sons, Jackie and Eddie Clarke, both of Morganton, a daughter, Toni Clarke Ledbetter of Morganton; two brothers, Joe Ernest Watts of Morganton and Edwin Watts of Las Vegas, NV; a sister, Ruby Wise of Morganton; four grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, a number of nieces and nephews, and her faithful dog, "Wolfie."

The funeral will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, September 11, 2006 in the Colonial Chapel of Sossoman Funeral Home with Reverends Earl Cross and Robert Rownd officiating. Entombment will follow in Burke Memorial Park Mausoleum. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service. At other times, the family will be at Mrs. Clarke’s residence, 202 Ridgedale Drive, Morganton.
