Kathryn Mae Mooney

Kathryn Mae Keller Mooney, 90, of Morganton passed away Monday, March 11, 2019.  Born in Burke County, NC on May 18, 1928, she was the daughter of the late Dolphus Pinkney Keller and Bertha Dale Keller.  Kathryn was a member of Gibbs Chapel Wesleyan Church.

Mrs. Mooney is survived by her children, David Wayne Mooney (Janie) and Kathy Mooney Alexander (Don); grandchildren, Wesley Oliver Mooney, Laura Alexander Teague (Scott), and Amy Alexander (Jim Clark); great-grandchildren, Addison Poteat and Asa Alexander-Clark; and a number of nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Kathryn was preceded in death by her husband, David Oliver Mooney; 5 brothers; and 4 sisters.

The family will receive friends from 2 to 3 p.m., Friday, March 15, 2019 at Sossoman Funeral Home.  The memorial service will follow at 3 p.m. in the Colonial Chapel of the funeral home with Rev. Cris Uren officiating.  Burial of the cremated remains will follow in Hopewell Baptist Church Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to Gibbs Chapel Wesleyan Church.
