Kathy Wilson Burleson

Kathy Wilson Burleson, 65, of Morganton, NC passed away and Heaven gained an angel on Friday, May 13, 2022. She was born on August 8, 1956 in McDowell County to the late Jerry Wilson and May Burns Wilson Caroway. She grew up in the Morganton Church of God. She worked for Gene Smith, Resources on Call and then retired from Broughton Hospital. Kathy loved to travel and go to the beach. She was the kindest and sweetest person you could ever meet. Everyone she met loved her.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by several aunts and uncles.

Kathy is survived by her husband of 21 years, Dannie Burleson; step-son, Danny “Lee” Burleson, Jr (Julia); step-daughter, Sherry Lynn Burleson (Gwen); step-grandchild, Dakota Burleson; sister-in-law, Lena Sue Andrews; uncle, Bobby Burns; a cousin who was like her sister, Gwen Duplain (Bill); a cousin who was like her niece, Heather Mauney (Brian); great-nephews, Porter, Davis and Noah; other friends, Connie Brendle (Kevin), Diane Cook and Lisa McVey; her beloved fur baby, “Gracie”.

The family will receive friends from 2:00pm-3:00pm on Sunday, May 22, 2022 at Sossoman Funeral Home.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude’s Childrens Hospital and Better Life Rescue.

Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center is assisting the family with the arrangements.
