Keith Mosteller

Keith Mosteller, 54, of Valdese, died suddenly Monday August 22, 2011 at Grace Hospital. Born in Burke County on July 20, 1957, Keith was the son of Betty Tallent Mosteller of Valdese and the late Willie G. Mosteller.In addition to his mother, Keith is survived by his partner of 29 years, John H. Bounous, their son Aiden Keith Johnson, and his faithful dog, Demi, all of the home. A devoted son, partner, father, and companion, he will be greatly missed. Keith is also survived by his dear cousin, Barbara Metz of Hudson, NC.Also left to cherish his memory are numerous friends including Debbie, Kevin, and Destiny Thompson and the many colleagues, patients, patrons, and neighbors he touched as a caregiver at Western Carolina Center, as a cosmetologist and salon owner, or as a true companion.In spite of any personal discomfort he might have from time to time, he remained smiling and cheerful and was always more than happy to do anything he could to help a friend. In addition to his family and friends he loved going out or just relaxing in front of the TV with his dog or keeping in touch on the phone.In keeping with Keith’s wishes, in lieu of any service, his family will host a reception in his honor and memory and welcome all his friends to join them in a celebration of his life on Sunday, August 28, 2011, from 3:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. at Waldensian Heritage Wines, 4946 Villar Lane, NE, Valdese, NC 28690.
