Keith Summerlin

Keith Summerlin, 67, of Morganton, NC passed away Friday, August 22, 2014. Born on May 8, 1947, he was the son of the late Marvin Carey Summerlin and Johnnie Lee Fisher Summerlin. He was the grandson of the late Reverend J.O. Summerlin, the first pastor of North Morganton Baptist Church, where Keith was an active member.
Keith is survived by his devoted wife, Linda Nelson Summerlin; sisters, Donna Wilkes and husband, Harold, of Mooresville, NC, and Betsy Greene and husband, Dudley, of Morganton; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews.
Keith endured many physical problems in his life but he faced them with grace and endurance. He was a gifted photographer, an amateur ham radio operator (KE4-NEL) with world-wide friends, and was famous for his sense of humor and wonderful stories.
A celebration of Keith’s life will be held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, September 14, 2014 at North Morganton Baptist Church with the Reverends Kenneth Baker and Cade Burns, Jr. officiating. Following the service, the family will receive friends at the church.
