Kenneth Allan McGee

Kenneth Allan McGee, 53, of McGee St., Morganton, NC died Saturday, May 17, 2008 at Mission Memorial Hospital in Asheville, NC following a brief illness. He was born May 13, 1955 in Burke County, NC, and was a son of the late Arnold Lee McGee, Sr. and Ethel Powell McGee. Kenneth attended Zion Baptist Church. In 1976, he graduated from the North Carolina School for the Deaf, and was active in restoring the NCSD museum. Kenneth worked at Lowe’s Foods as an assistant for many years.He is survived by a brother, Arnold "Junior" McGee, of Wilmington, NC; a nephew, Martin McGee and a niece, Monica McGee, both of Morganton. Kenneth was loved by all his aunts, uncles, and many cousins.Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, May 21, 2008 at Zion Baptist Church with Rev. Johnny Powell and Rev. David Orders officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 6:30 until 8:00 p.m. at Sossoman Funeral Home. At other times, the family will be at the residence of James and Debbie Hensley, off Goodman Lake Road in Morganton.
