Kenneth Dwight King, 71, of Morganton, NC passed away unexpectedly at his home on Friday, March 11, 2016. Ken was born February 4, 1945, Cleveland County to the late Otis Ellis King and Clemma Lackey King.
Ken served his country in the U. S. Army and later returned home to Lincoln County. He was a master car body mechanic. Ken taught classes at McDowell Tech prior to going into business for himself. He ran Carbon City Motors, a body shop, and tow truck service for many years.
Ken is survived by his children, Amy Catherine King, Sherri Yvonne King, Kendra King; grandchildren; Catherine Causby, Kenneth Hunt, Danielle King, Lindsay Cobb, and Serenity Houpe; and four great-grandchildren. Ken is also survived by siblings, Mary King Wood, Clyde Ellis King, Sue King Setzer, Ruby King Webb, Otis King, Jr. and wife Annette, Bobbie King Potter, Johnny Charles King and wife, Brenda, and Kathy King Wilson and husband, Don.
In addition to his parents, Ken was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Katherine Arrowood King.
The family will receive friends Saturday, March 19, 2016 from 11:00 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. at Sossoman Funeral Home. A private family burial will be held at a later time.
Memorial contributions may be made to Sossoman Funeral Home to assist the family with expenses.
Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center is assisting the family with the arrangements.
