Kenneth Wayne Farris

Kenneth Wayne Farris, Sr., 71, of Farris Loop, Morganton, NC died Thursday, November 29, 2012 at Grace Hospital. Born December 22, 1940 in Burke County, NC, he was a son of the late James Farris and Mabel Elizabeth Jarrett Farris. In addition to his parents, Kenneth was preceded in death by a brother, James Farris; and a sister, Linda Dale.

Kenneth was a member of Mountain View #2 Baptist Church.He is survived by his wife, Brenda Lou Waycaster Farris of the home; sons, Dwayne Farris and wife, Connie, Gregory Farris and wife, Eula, and Kenneth Farris, Jr., all of Morganton; a daughter, Baranda Farris of Morganton; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; a brother, Billy Ray Farris and wife, Donna, of Morganton; and sisters, Shirley Conley and husband, Roy, of Morganton, and Nancy Reece and husband, Howard of Pennsylvania.Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, December 2, 2012 at Mountain View #2 Baptist Church with Rev. Ken Mashburn and Rev. Nelson Wright officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with military rites conducted by the NC National Guard and the Caldwell County Veterans Honor Guard. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. At other times, the family will be at the residence. Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center is assisting the family with the arrangements.
