Kevin Denton, 53, of Morganton, NC, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, March 31, 2025.
Born in Burke County, NC on April 28, 1971, he was the son of William “Bill” Jackson Denton and Judy Carolyn Spake Denton.
Kevin was a loving son and brother. He was a huge fan of the Dallas Cowboys and loved watching football. He also enjoyed riding his dirt-bike and ATV, and he was a former Mustang buff. Kevin worked at numerous manufacturing facilities, including American Roller Bearing, Dana Corporation, and Caterpillar.
In addition to his parents, Kevin is survived by his brother, Mark Denton (Sandy); nephew, Colby Denton (Tabby); nieces, Jessica Denton Lookadoo (Jacob) and Sarah Denton (Trevor); and his numerous feline companions.
The family will receive friends from 12 to 1 p.m., Thursday, April 3, 2025 at the Christian Learning Center at Denton’s Chapel Church. The graveside service will follow at 1 p.m. in the church cemetery with Rev. Jimmy Queen officiating.
Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center is assisting the family with the arrangements.

My sincere condolences to the family. Judy and I went to school together from first grade through high school. It is hard to imagine the grief of losing a son; may God help you find peace.

My sincere condolences to Judy, Bill, Mark, Lynette and Kevin's family. I taught Kevin and Mark at Salem Junior High School and remembered him as a fun-loving handsome kid. He loved teasing me. I also worked with Lynette at Hillcrest Elementary School. May God bless each of you during this most difficult time in your lives. You remain in my most sincere thoughts and prayers.
