Kima Gail Rockett Bowman

Kima Gail Rockett Bowman, 62, of Glen Alpine, NC, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, December 2, 2021.  Born in Burke County, NC on July 1, 1959, she was the daughter of Wanda Huntley Childers  and the late William “Bill” Childers.  Kima was a devoted Christian, family woman and was a member of Freshfire Church.  She retired from Broughton Hospital and enjoyed watching westerns, listening to gospel music, and especially spending time with her family.

In addition to her mother, Kima is survived by her husband of 43 years, Phillip David Bowman; daughter, Misty Bowman; grandchildren, Macie Morrison and Hayley Silva; great-grandchildren, Simon and Kiara Shull; sisters, Kathy Grady, Karen Campbell, Crystal Pritchard, and Cherie Huffman; and a number of nieces, nephews, and extended family.

In addition to her father, Kima was preceded in death by her grandmother, Gracie Huntley.

The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m., Tuesday, December 7, 2021 at Sossoman Funeral Home.  The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. in the Colonial Chapel of the funeral home with Pastor Sam Crowe officiating.  Entombment will follow in Burke Memorial Park Mausoleum.
