Landyn Michael Melton, 3, of Morganton, NC went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, March 15, 2017. Born in Burke County on March 14, 2014, he was the son of Bradley Monroe Melton and Jamie Lyn Basinger.
He was a loving, happy little boy who lit up the room when he walked in. He enjoyed playing, especially mowing with his toy mower. Even though he was only 3, Landyn was very affectionate and was continually showing his family how much he loved them. He will be greatly missed by everyone who knew him.
In addition to his parents, Landyn is survived by a sister, Emma Melton; his maternal grandparents, Brenda and Brent Basinger; his paternal grandparents, Larry and Teresa Melton; and numerous aunts, uncles, and extended family.
Landyn was preceded in death by a maternal grandfather, Michael Basinger.
A graveside service for Landyn will be held at 1 pm, Monday, March 20, 2017 at Burkemont Baptist Church Cemetery with the Rev. Eddy Bunton officiating. A celebration of Landyn’s life will be held in the church sanctuary at 2pm.
Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center is assisting the family with the arrangements.
