Larry D. Turner, 64, of Morganton, NC died Tuesday, September 22, 2015. Born in Burke County, NC on October 23, 1950, he was the son of the late Harold A. Turner and Yvonne Smith Turner. Larry was a graduate of Morganton High School and of Western Carolina University. He was employed as a purchasing officer at NC School for the Deaf and at Broughton Hospital from which he retired. Larry was an avid hunter and fisherman.
He is survived by a daughter, Jennifer Turner Kincaid and husband, Chris, of Valdese; grandchildren, Hunter Greene and Chase Kincaid; and brother-in-law, John Tudor and son, Matthew.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a sister, Kathy Turner Tudor.
The family will receive friends from 12:00 p.m. until 1:00 p.m., Thursday, September 24, 2015 at Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center. The funeral will be held in the Colonial Chapel of the funeral home at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Eddy Bunton officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Hill Cemetery.
