Larry Gilbert Walker

Larry Gilbert Walker, 81, of Morganton, NC, passed away Monday, May 2, 2022.

Born in Burke County, NC on December 7, 1940, he was the son of the late Clause Delmit Walker and Effie Mabel Snipes Walker.  Larry was a member of Central Baptist Church.  He enjoyed playing guitar, especially at church and for other’s enjoyment.

Larry is survived by his sons, Scott Gilbert Walker, Gregory Clay Walker, and Mark Randall Walker; grandchildren, Miranda Carpenter and Chelsea Walker; and great-grandchildren, Alivia Carpenter, Makenzie Carpenter, and Nathaniel Poovey.

In addition to his parents, Larry was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Sue Cline Walker; previous wife, Kathryn Ruth Walker; three brothers; and four sisters.

The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m., Saturday, May 7, 2022 at Sossoman Funeral Home.  The funeral will be held at 12 p.m. in the Colonial Chapel of the funeral home.  Entombment will follow in Burke Memorial Park Mausoleum.

Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center is assisting the family with the arrangements.
