Laura Elizabeth McGee, 57, of Oakdale Drive, Morganton, NC, died April 10, 2006 at her residence. Born January 1, 1949 in Burke County, NC, she was the daughter of the late Marcus Wilson Huffman, Sr., and Annie Mae Branch Huffman. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Oscar McGee; and by Theodore Wesley Smith and Clarence Wilson. Mrs. McGee was of the Baptist faith.
Laura is survived by two sons, Henry Chane McGee of Marion, NC, and Milton "Squirrel" Wayne McGee of Concord, NC; two brothers, Marcus Wilson Huffman, Jr. of Todd, NC, and William Odell Huffman of Glen Alpine, NC; three sisters, Louise Beshears of Morganton, Barbara Powell of Glen Alpine; and Pamela Lee Penley of Glen Alpine; a step-daughter, Dora "Polly" Costner; seven grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
No services are planned for Mrs. McGee. Sossoman Funeral Home is assisting the family.
