Lawrence “Larry” Lane, 83, of Rutherfordton went to meet his Lord and Savior on Wednesday, March 9, 2022. He was born on May 5, 1938, in Valdese, NC to the late Earl Lane and Margaret Woodward Ballew Fox.
Larry made his career in textiles where he worked at Morganton Dyeing and Finishing, Hamrick’s, Hanes, and National Textiles. He was also owner/operator of Lane Trucking Company. He enjoyed gardening, construction work, and sports.
He is survived by his wife of 29 years, Mary Foster Lane; son Larry Lane (Ashley); daughters; Tracey Kincaid (Derek) and Robin Wells (Charlie) granddaughters, Clara Lane and Callie Lane, sisters; Ilan Devinney, Peggy Flynn and Marty Anderson, stepchildren Kim Kurkendall (Phillip), Darren Byers and Scott Byers; step grandchildren, Shay, Jon, Mason, Destiny, Brooke, Chase, Rylie, Brantley and Graidyn and his special grand dog, Charlie.
The family will receive friends from 1pm-2pm Saturday, March 12, 2022, at Grace Baptist Church 1939 Paul Shuping Avenue, Morganton, NC. The funeral will begin at 2:00 pm in the church with Rev. Marty Bess officiating. Burial will follow at Eternal Hills Memorial Park, 1565 Oakland Rd, Forest City, NC
