Lee Roy Huffman

Lee Roy Huffman, 69 of Morganton, NC went peacefully to his Heavenly home on Wednesday, August 3, 2016 at 1:58 a.m. Born in Burke County, NC on August 6, 1946, Lee Roy was the son of the late Russell and Annabell Huffman. We thank our Heavenly Father for the opportunity to share a wonderful soul, a giving husband, a loving father, grandfather, and great grandfather in Lee Roy Huffman.
Lee Roy was a US Navy veteran serving in the Vietnam War. He retired with over twenty years of service as a Naval Sea Bee. Lee Roy and his wife, Ruby Nell Huffman of fifty-one years enjoyed seeing much of the world.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Ruby Nell Huffman of the home; son, Micah Huffman; grandson, Curtis Huffman and wife, Kendall; and great-grandchildren, Kinslee, Lakelee, and Hadlee. Lee Roy is also survived by his sisters, Dorothy Baker, Gladys Glazebrooks, and Rachel Lail; and brothers, Olin Huffman and Paul Huffman and family.
In addition to his parents, Lee Roy was preceded in death by his sister, Beulah Rector.
The family will receive friends, from 2:00 – 3:00 p.m., Sunday, August 7, 2016 at Sossoman Funeral Home. The funeral will follow at 3:00 p.m. in the Colonial Chapel of Sossoman Funeral Home with Rev. David Duncan officiating. Military honors will be provided by the US Navy.
