Lee Roy Smith, 83, of Morganton passed away Friday, February 8, 2019. Born on March 23, 1935, he was the son of the late Forest Robert Smith and Minnie Hilderbran Smith. He was a member of Walkers Chapel Baptist Church.
Lee is survived by his wife, Mary Kate Walker Smith; sons, Terry Smith, Andy Smith (Kay), Danny Smith, and Ronnie Smith; daughters, Sandy Riddle (David) and Carol Parsons (Steve); grandchildren, Nichole Parker, Kevin Hicks (Chelse), Robbie Hicks (Kitty), Brandon Smith, Jennifer Smith (Sam), Lisa Kicklighter, Eric Pipes II, Dylan Smart; greatgrandchildren, Kaylee Pipes, Jayden Hicks, and Sarah Kicklighter.
In addition to his parents, Lee is preceded in death by his sons, Jerry and Don Smith; brothers, Raymond, Frank and Bobby Smith; sisters, Mary Jane Smith, Estelle Huffman.
The family will receive friends from 1 until 2 p.m., Monday, February 11, 2019 at Walker’s Chapel Baptist Church. The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. in the church with the Rev. Danny McNeilly officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
